Grand Re-Opening celebration, fostering awareness and visibility of Native American cultures.

* Saturday, April 27, 11:00 am – 4:30 pm

The Museum of the American Indian (MAI) is thrilled to announce the Grand Re-Opening celebration, marking over 55 years of fostering awareness and visibility of Native American and Indigenous cultures.

The Grand Re-Opening event, located in Novato at Miwok Park, will feature special guests, Museum tours, nature walks, live music and dance, and a silent auction.

Our goal is to raise support for our ongoing educational programs that reach over 5,000 students annually, and thousands of visitors, through exhibits, workshops, and events like our annual Trade Feast.

During our temporary shutdown we took the opportunity to update our physical site and enhance our programs.

The communities support will enable us to offer these revitalized programs to students and communities across Marin and the Bay Area.

We are excited to re-open our doors and once again share the rich Native American culture and traditions.
