Guest Songleader Amanda West Joins Marv

Understanding music to be a part of our human birthright, and playing an essential role in our experience of being alive, Amanda West has found her life path and greatest joy through sharing music with others.

Amanda is an award-winning singer-songwriter, songleader, music teacher, community leader, and mother. With 7 self-produced albums and numerous singles, she has toured in both the U.S. and Europe.

In 2014 she co-founded Womb Song, U.S., an organization that supports women in motherhood through song. This work continues through community singing circles, rituals, and workshops.

Amanda leads the Covered Bridge Community Choir in Felton, CA, and leads/co-leads a wide variety of workshops and song circles in Central California and beyond.

Amanda is an enchanting, multi-talented, inspirational human — I am beyond thrilled to be co-leading the Central Marin Singers Choir with her on November 29. You can get details/tickets for that evening and all evenings of our Fall Season here.

Led by Marv Zauderer, who teaches easy-to-learn songs in the oral tradition — call-and-response, no need to read music! — this community song circle gives you the opportunity to see (via Zoom) and hear (via free software – Jamulus) everyone in the circle, and gives everyone the opportunity to see and hear you, too — live, without any delay! Feel the joy of singing with others again! It’s the kind of thing that so many of us have missed since the pandemic derailed community singing, right?
