The Marin Symphony kicks off its Masterworks season with “Romance” featuring Tchaikovsky’s dramatic and powerful Symphony No. 4.
Music Director Alasdair Neale, now in his 17th season with the Marin Symphony, shared these comments about the performance:
“Once again we find ourselves at the beginning of an exciting new season for the Marin Symphony. There’s much to look forward to this year, beginning with our opening Masterworks concerts on October 29 and 31.
In a nod to Halloween we’ll be performing Mussorgsky’s “Night on Bald Mountain” to open the concert. Barber’s lyrical Violin Concerto follows, as we welcome back MSO audience favorite Jennifer Koh. And for all you Tchaikovsky fans out there (and who isn’t?) the program ends with his sizzling and tempestuous 4th Symphony.
All in all, I think you’ll find it’s a season teeming with variety and passion. I look forward to seeing you at the Symphony!”
