By popular demand, our pop-up choir is back! We’ll again be at Marin Country Mart at Larkspur Landing, during their terrific farmers’ market.

For those of you who haven’t been there, our pop-up choirs are kinda like musical flashmobs. We gather at a public event where there are tons of people coming through, but our purpose is not performance, it’s community participation, community-building, and having fun! I teach songs that can be learned in 5-10 minutes, and we invite people walking by to step into the circle and learn & sing with us!

Last time at Marin Country Mart one passer-by who joined us for the last several songs came up to me and said, “Thank you. I got over my fear of singing to join you.” That’s how welcoming and non-perfectionistic we all are! We accept everyone, and everyone’s voice, exactly as they are.

So come out and join us, it’s free, you don’t have to sign up, and please invite family and friends! Saturday, August 26, 10:30 am – 11:30 am, in the courtyard near Copperfield’s Books at Marin Country Mart. Consider stopping in at their farmers’ market afterwards and having lunch at one of their cool food trucks!

Led by Marv Zauderer, who teaches easy-to-learn songs in the oral tradition — call-and-response, no need to read music! — this community song circle gives you the opportunity to see (via Zoom) and hear (via free software – Jamulus) everyone in the circle, and gives everyone the opportunity to see and hear you, too — live, without any delay! Feel the joy of singing with others again! It’s the kind of thing that so many of us have missed since the pandemic derailed community singing, right?
