Shafia Zaloom is currently a Health Educator at the Urban School in San Francisco. A teacher, former coach, certified outdoor educator and administrator in the Bay Area for 25 years, she has worked with thousands of teenagers. The focus of Shafia’s work is on human development, healthy communities, ethics and social justice. She consults with other schools to create programs and leads teachers to develop and present curricula on a variety of topics.

Peggy Orenstein is the New York Times bestselling author of Girls & Sex, Cinderella Ate My Daughter, Waiting for Daisy, Flux, and Schoolgirls. A contributing writer for the New York Times Magazine, she has been published in USA Today, Parenting, Salon, the New Yorker, and other publications, and has contributed commentary to NPR’s All Things Considered. She lives in Northern California with her husband and daughter.
