Spark your child’s imagination with creative fun at MarinMOCA’s Summer of Art! Comprising three unique, week-long summer camps, our Summer of Art programs offer a diverse range of activities designed to cultivate artistic skills, develop creative thinking, and build lasting friendships.

Cartooning for Kids: Sketches, Comic Stripes, Zines and More!
* July 8-12, 9:00 am – 3:30 pm
* Ages: 9-12

Budding cartoonists and graphic novelists, this one’s for you! Led by artist Jennifer Siegal, this students will learn the fundamentals of character creation and storytelling as they invent and craft their own unique cartoon characters.

Working with graphite, colored pencils, and markers, participants will gain essential drawing skills while developing their sense of humor and comedic timing.

Show and Share sessions provide a platform for collaboration and learning from each other as students hone their skills and create, hilarious three-frame comic strips and more.


​Collage Garage:
* July 15-19, 9:00 am – 3:30 pm
* Ages: 13-16

This dynamic, hands-on workshop focuses on self-expression and artistic experimentation.

Guided by seasoned instructors Graham Moore and Jim Wojtowicz, the camp is an immersive, five-day event in which students will learn to confidently combine imagery, paint, paper and other materials to develop a series of visually striking, collage-based creations.

Along the way, they’ll discover new ways of thinking about their creative process, including how to embrace serendipity, break out of comfort zones, and trust their creative instincts.

These new skill sets are not only fun to learn, they also inform important life skills such as innovative thinking and confident decision-making.


Exploring Modern Art
* July 22-26, 9:00 am – 3:30 pm
* Ages: 6-8

Unleash your child’s inner artist in this vibrant and engaging camp! Designed for elementary students, the camp offers a fun and exciting introduction to the world of modern art.

Through hands-on projects and lessons inspired by renowned artists, instructor Lauren Volk helps participants broaden their artistic horizons, acquire new techniques, and learn to express themselves visually.

From Post-Impressionist vivid colors to Pop Art’s playful portraits, each day brings a new artistic adventure, nurturing young talents and building confidence.
