New band and album project from Tim Hockenberry
The 559 is both a band and a musical project that was born out of the Central Valley of California.
While holed up in Fresno, CA for 90 days for a TV series on Discovery Network, Tim Hockenberry was inspired to write an album of songs that are reflective of some of the issues facing the people in the middle of the state.
Small farming, small towns, trains, migrant workers, farmers, and all the things that come along with such an expansive area that manages to produce much of our fresh food here in The United States.
While the album and its all original songs have yet to be released, they are currently being recorded and produced at Red Star Recording Studio in Los Angeles under the direction of music producer, Gary Novak and sound engineer, Alan Hertz.
The best way to describe the music of The 559? Where Clint Eastwood horns and Americana guitars meet Bruce Springsteen vocals at a Bluegrass festival in the San Joaquin Valley.
The band consists of:
Tim Hockenberry (America’s Got Talent/Trans-Siberian Orchestra) – Vocals/Keys/Horns
Gary Novak (Alanis Morrisette/Chick Corea) – Drums
Michael Landau (James Taylor) – Guitars
Tim Lefebvre (Derek Trucks/Susan Tedeschi) – Bass
