The Big Sing! A community singing celebration in San Anselmo

Love to sing in the shower or the car? Want to feel inspired and uplifted in community? Then this Big Sing is for you!

Come join our 35-member Joyful Voices Chorus on Sunday, May 5, in San Anselmo, when our Novato and San Anselmo choirs will join together to get the entire room singing!

This is not a performance; we’ll be teaching a variety of easy-to-learn unison songs, layer songs, rounds, chants, and multi-part harmony songs, and then singing our hearts out — singing our hearts IN — together!

And, we are VERY fortunate to have special guest Kele Nitoto joining us! Kele is a second generation African-American percussionist and singer.

Born and raised in the Oakland Dance Culture, Kele Has studied with Masters of many styles, becoming proficient in West-African, Congolese, Afro-Cuban, Afro-Peruvian, and Afro-Haitian traditional musics.

Over the last 25 years, Kele has performed throughout the country in dance companies, bands, and teaching workshops and classes, summer camps, spiritual and workplace retreats, and for countless ceremonies and celebrations.

We’ll be in our usual Duncan Hall auditorium space at the First Presbyterian Church in San Anselmo. As always, you never need any singing experience, there’s no music to read, and all voices are welcome.
