The Cole Porter Society Presents a Salute to Tony Bennett!
Shows:
* Sunday, March 10, 2:00 pm
Come and experience the very best of the Tony Bennett songbook, at the intimate Showcase Theater.
Acclaimed singer Noah Griffin and friends, Bobby Vickers, Boz Austrian and Deborah Winter perform vocals of Tony’s most beloved songs as Harold Jones leads a superb 18- piece orchestra.
Harold Jones, in addition to having been Tony’s drummer, worked for many years with Count Basie. In 1962, at the request of Jackie Kennedy, Jones produced the first jazz concert at the White House.
His biography, The Singer’s Drummer tells the story of this remarkable musician.
Noah Griffin is the Founder and Artistic Director of The Cole Porter Society – the producer and performer of shows showcasing the Great American Songbook, including a sold-out show at the Herbst Theatre celebrating Frank Sinatra, New Year’s Eve at the Fairmont for two years, Sunday Afternoons at the Golden Gate Yacht Club, Ed Sullivan a Really Big Shew!, and our yearly fundraiser, The Cole Porter Society Salutes Motown!
He wrote the official ballad of the Golden Gate Bridge. He is the retired Vice-Mayor of the Town of Tiburon.
Boz Austrian is a lover of jazz standards, big bands, heartfelt ballads and, in particular, the stylings of the Four Freshman.
Boz has been singing, playing and entertaining for decades. He is a guitarist, piano player and a cappella/close harmony fanatic.
Bobby Vickers, known to many at Bud E. Luv, has another side to show the world. An accomplished singer, whether it be Las Vegas glitz or the elegant Rrazz Room, Bobby knows how to engage his audience.
Featured on MTV and The Today Show, the singer, bandleader and comedian is delighted to be a guest performer celebrating Tony Bennett.
Deborah Winters is a critically praised singer/songwriter who performs live and gives private vocal coaching. Variety and versatility characterize Deborah’s ongoing performance schedule.
From straight-ahead jazz to inspirational to folk and rock, Deborah continues to dazzle and uplift her audiences.
