The Poetry of Truth: Writing What Truly Matters

Join us for a dynamic writing workshop with poet & writer Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer where you will be guided toward writing into the direct truth of your experience—writing forth what truly matters. Using mindfulness exercises and innovative prompts you will. . .

  •  Improve your writing skills and how to use the power of poetry to inspire and heighten your writing in any genre
  • Discover ways to access a deeper creativity through NEW mindfulness practices
  • Connect in compassionate, creative community to gain support and insight

Through the practice of reading and writing poetry Rosemerry asks the deeper question: “What does it mean to be alive?” Sometimes we lose track of what’s important. Sometimes we find our way back to what’s important. For Rosemerry, mindfulness poems, with their insistence on returning to “what is true” and meeting the moment, are helpful guides that help us dig through the detritus to get to the heart of our lives, and what we truly need to say!

Rosemerry will be drawing from her forthcoming book, Exploring Poetry of Presence II: Prompts to Deepen Your Writing Practice (Back Porch Productions), a companion/prompt book for the sequel to the popular mindfulness anthology, Poetry of Presence II (Grayson Books) .

Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer has been writing a poem every day since 2006—a practice that has changed everything about how she sees and meets the world. She co-hosts Emerging Form (a podcast on creative process), Secret Agents of Change (a surreptitious kindness cabal) and Soul Writer’s Circle. Her poetry has appeared on A Prairie Home Companion, PBS News Hour, O Magazine, American Life in Poetry, on Carnegie Hall stage, and on river rocks she leaves around town. Her collection Hush won the Halcyon Prize. Naked for Tea was a finalist for the Able Muse Book Award. Her most recent collection is All the Honey.
