Victoria Veedell talks about "Golden Hour" with Gwenda Joyce

Bringing her focus back home to Marin and Sonoma counties, Victoria Veedell‘s new paintings include scenes of bodies of water that reflect early morning light into the magic hour.

She has travelled widely and been a guest at many artist residencies around the world where she was inspired by the different terrain, foliage and light she has seen in Iceland, Shanghai, India, and Japan.

Veedell uses her oil paints to explore gradients of light and color. Exposed by her travels to the drastic differences in atmosphere, light and landscape around the world, Veedell brings that home in her new paintings.
