Singer-songwriter Dan Imhoff – double-bill with banjo extraordinaire Tim Weed
Sonoma County singer-songwriter Dan Imhoff will be sharing the Throckmorton stage in a unique double bill with banjo virtuoso Tim Weed and legendary bassist Bobby Vega in celebration of his latest CD Peregrino on Friday, August 30.
Hailed as “one of the world’s greatest banjo players,” by Banjo Newsletter Magazine, Tim Weed is pleased to introduce Marin audiences to Dan’s musical talents.
Banjo extraordinaire Tim Weed along with Legendary bass player Bobby Vega will open the show.
Dan Imhoff, whose music is often described as “Americana Jazz,” is a northern California songwriter who combines folk-rock, gospel, blues and jazz with vivid lyrics and storytelling. He has five albums of original music and has worked with such extraordinary artists as Charlie Musselwhite and David Grisman. He is also an award-winning journalist and author of 10 books on food, farming, and ecology.
The Dan Imhoff Band’s Summer 2019 tour will feature two of his Spanish musical compatriots: Jaume Guerra Meneu on bass and Amadeo Moscardó on piano and keyboards. They will be joined by Tim Weed on guitar, banjo, and mandolin, Chip Trombley on percussion and Shea Breaux Wells on vocals.
In 2018 Imhoff moved to Valencia, Spain for a sabbatical at the Berklee College of Music international campus where he recorded his most recent release, “Peregrino,” with some of Valencia’s finest jazz musicians.
